VASTU FOR COLORS

VASTU FOR COLORS:-

Colors, colors and colors; they’re everywhere; the whole world is filled with them.

Right from the most scenic places in the world to the screen in front of your eyes right now, you’re bound to find colors.

Did you know that colors have astounding effects on emotions, mind and thought process?

For example, surround a depressed person with black color and he may never overcome melancholy.

On the other hand, keeping the same – yes the very same – depressed person surrounded with lively and warm colors would fast-track the healing process and one day he may be one of the most optimistic person you’ve ever met in your life.

Such can be – and is – the effect of colors on our lives.

What this all means is that you can’t – and must never – devalue the importance of colors.

This is the primary reason why vastu shastra has rules and guidelines for coloring a house.

These vastu color tips – or guidelines – would help you to choose the best color combination for your home so that you and your family are always lively, lovable, healthy and happy.

But first, I want you to understand what each color means and what area of life that color influences.

The next section of this article is dedicated to just that, so read on.

Since colors are everywhere, there needs to be some meaning to them.

What I mean is that each and every color should signify something and that’s exactly what this section of the article addresses.

In this section, I’ll reveal to you what each color (main colors) means and what aspect of life they influence.

So without any delay, let’s start learning what each color means and what area of life it influences.

Red

Red is a bold color. It represents lust, passion, materialism, base energies, bravery, power, drama, emotions, action, passion, aggressiveness, warmth, energy and vibrancy.

Its nature is active and stimulating (that’s why you can see more of red in some restaurants as it stimulates hunger).

You can use red color at places that need warmth and energy.

Try putting combination of red color shades (not too much) in the living room and see how lively that room becomes.

People suffering from depression or who’re nervous should avoid red color as it can be very stressful.

Blue

Sky and water are represented by this color.

Blue also signifies beauty, tranquility, contentment, emotions, inspiration, devotion, truth and mercy.

It’s a color that helps healing and reduces pain.

You can use blue colors in areas that are huge.

Avoid using blue for small rooms.

Always make sure to choose lighter shades of blue while coloring walls of your home.

Try to avoid more of blue color in office, shop or factory.

Avoid having too much blue in the house as it’ll lead to cough, cold and similar medical issues.

Green

Growth, nature, relaxation, healing, fertility, abundance, prosperity, positive energy, rebirth, re-creation etc. are the attributes represented by green color.

Since it represents healing that’s why you’ll notice more of green color in hospitals.

Another important quality of green color is that it helps to calm down temper and helps soothe the mood.

Hence, people or couples with temperament issues can use more of green color.

White

White color signifies purity, cleanliness, openness, innocence, simplicity and luxury.

Since it also represents privacy and intimacy, you should not paint the whole house white, else you may become egocentric.

You must make sure to have the whole ceiling of the house in white color.

Yellow

Yellow represents happiness, purity, positive thoughts, optimism, openness, illumination, intelligence, study, stable mind, wealth and concentration.

Yellow has broadening effect i.e. it can be used at places or rooms that aren’t big; this’ll make the place look bigger than it actually is.

The solar plexus chakra (out of the 7 chakras) of the human body has yellow color.

Hence, people having behavioral issues can use more of yellow color.

Orange

Orange color characterizes pride, determination, goals, communication, good health, vivacity, warmth, action, energy, comfort and ease.

It’s a color that can be used by people who feel depressed with life.

Also, young aspirants who’re willing to put in determined efforts to achieve goals in their life should use more of orange color.

However, make sure not to use too much of orange (just use it in moderation).

Brown

Brown represents satisfaction, contentment, comfort, stability and earth element.

It’s a masculine color and can be used by anyone who wants to feel happy and satisfied in his life.

Purple

Purple is the color of luxury, riches, graciousness, self-respect and poise.

It can be used by people who’re suffering from inferiority complex (especially males).

Violet

It represents spirituality, contentment, satisfaction, memory, concentration, peace of mind and decisive nature.

Indecisive people should use more of violet color; it’ll help them take better decisions and instill confidence.

Also, people who feel they’re always discontented with life can use violet color.

Try not to use too much of violet color in office or business place as it’ll make you feel satisfied with whatever money you have and the drive to make more money won’t be in you.

It’s a very good color to be used moderately in kid’s bedroom, pooja room, study room and the rooms of people whose work requires constant mental activity.

Pastels

All the pastel colors are considered best in vastu shastra.

In-fact as per vastu shastra, we should be using very light colors for walls and ceiling of our home.

Neutral

Neutral colors are also considered very good in vastu shastra and are recommended for houses and other buildings.

Colors Vastu – Directions & Colors (The Relation Amongst Them)

As per vastu shastra, there’re 8 directions that we need to take care of. Out of these 8 directions, 4 are main directions and the rest 4 are sub-directions.

Here’re they:

Main Directions:

  1. North
  2. South
  3. East
  4. West

Sub-Directions:

  1. North-East (NE)
  2. South-East (SE)
  3. North-West (NW)
  4. South-West (SW)

Also, each and every direction and sub-direction in vastu shastra is associated with a color.

Hence, that color becomes the dominating color for that particular direction.

Here’s an image, which I’ve created, for better – and easier – understanding of the concept.

The image reveals to you the directions and sub-directions and the colors associated with them.

Do have good look at it!

Relation Between Colors & Directions

Taking from the image above, you can – and I know you’ve – deciphered that there’re various colors and color combinations that you can use in your home; but there’s still a lot to be understood.

Here’s what I mean

For example: The best color for North side (from the image) is green (and its shades).

Now, painting the whole North of the house in green color would certainly make it look very odd.

Furthermore, if each direction is painted with the exact color (as from the image) then the house would end up looking ugly and patchy.

Hence, North will be green, East will be white, West ends up being blue and South is red in color.

There doesn’t seem to be any balance of colors in a house like that.

Hence, you need to take care while coloring rooms of your home.

Now, depending upon which direction a room is located you need to decide the best suitable colors for it.

Ok, it may get overwhelming to think that much and understand everything; hence, I’ve sculpted the next section of this article as a room by room coloring guide that’ll help you to understand and choose the best colors for each room of your home depending on the direction they’re located.

All you need to do is to just read on carefully.

Colors Vastu – The Complete Room by Room Home Coloring Guide

Each and every room in a house is different and that’s because every room has specific purpose.

For example, bedroom for sleeping, living room for entertaining guests and spending leisure time with family, kitchen for cooking and so on.

Also, you’re now aware that colors can – and they do – have a significant effect on our moods and thought process.

What this all means is that if we’re using wrong colors at wrong places then there’re chances – and very good chances – that we’ll end-up messing something in our lives.

Here’s an example for better understanding:

Suppose a master bedroom that’s painted completely red.

Now, as you may know, red color represent “Fire” element and uncontrolled fire leads to chaos; hence, any couple (or even an individual) that sleeps in this – red colored – bedroom for prolonged periods of time will have temperament issues.

There’ll be fights within the family, with neighbors, even quarrels in office etc.

I assume – and believe at the same time – that the example above would suffice to understand the balance that colors can – and they do – bring into the life.

On that note let’s start learning what colors are best suited for each and every room of a home.

I’ve also provided some examples for better understanding of concept of vastu colors.

Below are room-wise vastu guidelines for choosing the best colors for each and every room of a house.

Master Bedroom Colors:

As you might be aware of the fact that as per vastu shastra, SW is the best place to locate the master bedroom.

Also, from the previous section of the article, you can relate that the best suited color for SW is brown and its shades.

Hence, it’s apt to say that one of the best – and a must have – color for the master bedroom is brown.

However, this doesn’t mean that you can just go ahead and paint the entire bedroom in brown color.

You see, master bedroom is mainly used for 2 purposes:

  1. Relaxation (while sleeping)
  2. Physical pleasures (having intercourse)

These 2 points are also to be considered while coloring the master bedroom of your home.

Hence, for relaxation part you can use blue color and for love making thing pink is very good (as pink is usually associated with love).

Furthermore, using a combination of brown, blue and pink will ensure that there’s a good balance in life.

The blue and pink are masculine and feminine colors respectively (hence they represent balance between couple) and the brown color gives stability.

Kid’s Bedroom Colors:

Some of the best colors that you can choose to use in kid’s bedroom are light green and shades of light yellow.

This’ll help the kids to concentrate more on studies and less on wasting their time.

Avoid using dark blue color for kid’s bedroom as it may lead to health issues like running nose, cough and cold etc.

Also avoid more of red color in kid’s bedroom as it may lead to temperament issues.

Living Room Colors:

Living room is the place where you entertain your guests and also spend quality time with your family.

Now, depending upon the location of living room in your home you need to settle on for the best colors.

Just keep one thing in mind that the living room (with the chosen colors) should look serene and welcoming.

Here’s an example: Suppose, in a house, the living room is in NW.

From the previous section of the article, you know that the best color for NW is white and its shades.

Hence, you can use more of white color in the living room.

Obviously, using only white color won’t make the living room lively and welcoming; hence you can use tinges of some other colors too such as, blue, green, a bit of red, light yellow and more.

Pooja/Prayer Room Colors:

The Pooja room is the sacred room or part of the house.

As per vastu shastra, the best place to locate a pooja room is NE part.

Also, from the previous section of the article, you can relate that the best colors for NE are yellow, green and blue.

Hence, the best colors for pooja room are light yellow, white, cream, light green, light blue etc.

Please avoid using dark colors especially red, black, brown etc.

Kitchen Colors:

As per vastu shastra, the best place to locate a kitchen is the SE corner of the house (NW is the second best).

Also, you might know that SE is the place of “Fire” element and fire is represented by red color.

Hence, the kitchen must have some tinge of red color (may be a stripe here and a strip there) or you can have a red dinner set.

White, silver, yellow, orange, rose, light chocolate etc. are best to use as floor and wall colors of kitchen.

Again, avoid using dark colors.

Bathroom & Toilet Colors:

Bathrooms and toilets are best colored using light colors such as white, light yellow, shades of light blue, lime green, light pink etc. Avoid using dark colors for walls, floors and tiles in bathroom and toilets.

Here’s an example: As per vastu shastra, one of the best location for a bathroom is the West side of the house.

Also, from the previous section of the article you can understand that the best color for West side is Blue.

Hence, if there’s a bathroom in West of your home, then try to have blue color accommodated in it.

You can have white and blue color wall tiles.

Staircase Colors:

Having light colored staircase in a home is very good as per vastu shastra.

While coloring staircases in your home, please avoid using red, black or any dark color.

You might be aware that NW is one of the best location to make a staircase in your home and from the previous section of the article you can relate that the best color for NW of the house is white.

Hence, white (it’s shades) and other light colors are best suited for a staircase in a home.

Main Door/Entrance Color:

The entrance of the house is one of the most crucial things in vastu shastra as that’s the place from where all the energy (positive or negative) enters your home.

Now, depending upon the location of main door, you need to choose colors.

Just make sure that the colors you choose are light colors and they all make the entrance look grand and welcoming.

Here’s an example: Suppose the entrance of a house is from North, from the previous section, we can relate that the best colors for North is green and it’s shades.

Now, an entrance that’s completely green isn’t going to look very good; hence, you can choose more colors that’ll look good in combination with green color.

Just make sure to have some amount of green coloring on or near the entrance.

You can also place plants (small and lush green ones) near the entrance to achieve this.

Car Parking or Garage Colors:

White, cream, yellow and other colors in light shades are good for car parking or garage in your home.

Also, make sure that the garage is as per vastu shastra; more about car parking vastu

Note:

  1. Whatever colors you choose for rooms of the house, just make sure to avoid darker shades.
  2. The ceiling – of all the rooms – must be white (no other color is allowed). This means that white color should dominate the ceiling.

With all this, we’ve come to the end of the article.

I have a deep belief that the above information on colors vastu was really helpful to you and you’ll be benefited by it.

Furthermore, I trust that you’re now in a position to choose the best – and more importantly correct – colors for all the rooms and parts of your home.

VASTU TIPS FOR CAR PARKING

VASTU FOR CAR PARKING:-

Car parking vastu is one thing that we all need to – and must – pay attention to if we want our vehicles to be safe, low maintenance and have a long life.

Now, I believe that all of us want to have a good car that should take us wherever we want, whenever we want and just the way we want (in a luxurious way).

But, often it happens that people buy a new vehicle and within a few days you can see them doing a few things:

  1. Taking rounds of the service center for repair
  2. Meeting with accidents (damaging the vehicle and owner)
  3. Going to police station for theft complaint
  4. Quarreling with neighbors for parking place

Just think for a moment what’s leading to the all such nuisances just after the person bought the car of his dreams?

Is it the car?

Is it the luck?

Or is it wrong vastu of parking?

The answer – simply is – the wrong parking location of the car.

What I mean here is that, as per vastu shastra, there’re locations in a house where – if a vehicle is parked – then there’ll be all sorts of troubles with the vehicle.

Here’re some examples:

  1. Theft
  2. Accidents
  3. Fire hazards (car catches fire – you may’ve seen this in news)
  4. Frequent breakdown (more repairs than usage)
  5. Quarrels with neighbors for parking space
  6. Less travel (this means that vehicle is mostly immobile– isn’t good for life of vehicle)

Having said that, there’re places in your house itself where you can park the vehicle and it’ll be at your service just the way you want it.

Parking at such places may have following effects:

  1. Safe travel
  2. Vehicle stays with you for a long time (serving you perfectly)
  3. Very low (standard) maintenance costs
  4. Name & fame (good for politicians, social figures & media people)
  5. Wealth & money (good for businessmen who travel a lot for business meetings)

With all this in mind, let’s dive right in to learning vastu for car parking so that you – yes you – may not have to face all aforementioned troubles when it comes to vehicles in your life.

Garden Vastu remains one of the most overlooked sections.

While making a home, most people are focused on Vastu for rooms and other parts and pay very little attention to the garden area.

But this in no way means that garden Vastu is dead.

There’re some intelligent people (like you) who understand (or want to understand) its importance and wish to implement Vastu shastra to their gardens too!

VASTU TIPS FOR WATER TANK

VASTU FOR WATER TANK:-

Water tank Vastu ensures that water tanks in your home are as per bringing Vastu shastra and aren’t bringing-in ill-effects to the residents.

Water tanks have different effects – and behave differently when located in different places.

The effect – or ill-effect – of water tanks depends upon where it’s located with respect to the house.

Hence, it’s important to locate them as per Vastu shastra and water tank Vastu helps us achieve just that.

Now, in a house, a water tank can be located via 2 ways:

  1. Underground– the ones that are dug up
  2. Overhead or roof top– The ones that are placed on the roof

For both types of water tanks (underground and overhead) Vastu shastra has got rules and regulations that you need to know and implement while locating a water tank – of either type – in your home.

As said earlier, incorrectly placed water tanks – of any type – brings malefic affects to the residents of the house.

On the other hand, properly placed tanks could help attract wealth, name & fame, abundance and prosperity.

So without any delay, let’s dive right into learning vastu principles for water tanks in a home.

As we’ve discussed earlier that water tanks can be of two types, namely, underground and overhead.

As per Vastu for water tanks, an underground water tank behaves way differently than the overhead one.

Hence there’re different set of Vastu tips and rules for each type of water tank.

Now, to make it easier for you to understand, I’ve divided this section of the article in 2 parts.

The first part deals with Vastu tips for overhead water tanks and the second part with that of underground ones.

So, let’s begin with the first part.

Overhead Water Tank Vastu – How to Do It

An overhead water tank is the one that you place on the roof of the house.

This means that an overhead water tank puts load on the area where it’s located.

This is the reason why you need to locate the overhead tanks at permissible Vastu locations.

To make it easy for you to comprehend the permitted Vastu locations for overhead tanks, I’ve made an image (that you can see below).

This image reveals the best location of overhead water tanks in a house as per vastu Shastra.

Do have a very good look at it.

Overhead Water Tank Vastu – The Best Locations

Here’s what the image means:

  1. Best located in SW or West
  2. Can be located in South too
  3. NW is the last option for overhead water tank placement (the tank should be small & 2-3 feet away from NW corner)
  4. Never locate it in NE as that makes NE heavy
  5. Don’t locate in SE; results in loss of wealth and accidents
  6. Never locate at the center of house

Apart from all this, here’re more vastu tips for overhead water tank.

Overhead Water Tank – What to Do

  1. Keep SW and South tank on a platform that’s 1-2 feet higher than the roof.
  2. For a tank in West there’s no need for a platform; you can place the tank at roof level.
  3. Blue or black colored plastic tanks can be used (avoid plastic tanks)
  4. Keep the tanks completely covered
  5. Clean the tanks regularly
  6. Have separate water tanks for kitchen and bathrooms/toilets

Overhead Water Tank – What to Avoid

  1. Avoid using plastic water tanks
  2. Never locate a water tank above a kitchen or bedroom
  3. No dampness or leaks from tanks (especially in SW)

These were all the overhead water tank vastu tips that you need to take care of.

Vastu for underground water tank is discussed in the next section, so just read on.

Underground Water Tank – Here’s What You Need to Do

An underground water tank is the one that’s dug up in the ground.

This means that it creates a depression in the area wherever it’s created.

This is the reason why you need to make sure to locate it at only permitted areas as per vastu shastra.

Similar to overhead tanks, I’ve created an image (that you can see below) that’ll reveal to you the best and permitted locations (as per vastu shastra) to locate or place an underground water tank in your house.

Do have a look at it too!

Underground Water Tank Vastu – The Best Locations

Here’s what that image means:

  1. Locate the tank towards NE of the house.
  2. The tank can be towards North and East
  3. Tank can also be located at 5thpada in West
  4. If there’s no option than you can also locate the tank in 4thpada in South

Note: In the image you’ll see that there’re locations in North, South, East and West of the house where you can place underground water tanks.

While some Vastu consultants would agree to this arrangement, others would straightway disagree.

Hence, it’s best to locate an underground tank at the “all agreed” location of NE part of the house.

Underground Water Tanks – What to Follow

  1. Always do pooja before digging the earth.
  2. Always make sure to get advice from an expert Vastu consultant

Underground Water Tank – What to Avoid

  1. Avoid dirty tanks
  2. No leakage or seepage
  3. Never start digging on any Tuesday
  4. Never close an incorrectly located tank by yourself

And that’s all there is to when it comes to water tank Vastu.

I hope and believe that you – know – have the knowledge and are in a position to make the water tank in your home aVastuu shastra compliant one!

What is sand & uses of sand & Bulking of sand

SAND:-

Sand is small grains of silica (SiO2) formed by the decomposition of rocks. It is one of the most important construction materials. It is broadly used in concrete cement mortar, lime mortar, earth filling, etc.

Contents :-

  • What is Bulking of Sand?
  • Bulking of Sand Significance
  • Test Procedure to determine the bulking of sand

What is Bulking of Sand?

The increase in the volume of sand due to increase in moisture content is known as bulking of sand. A film of water is created around the sand particles which forces the particles to get a side from each other and thus the volume is increased.

The increase in moisture in sand increases the volume of sand. The volume increase in dry sand is known as the bulking if sand. Bulking of sand depends on the quantity of moisture in the sand and also the size of the particles. Five to eight percent of the increase in moisture in the sand can increase the volume of sand up to 20 to 40 percent. Again, the finer the sand is more will be the increase in volume and increase in volume will be relatively less for coarser sand.

Bulking of Sand. Reference PCA Major Series 172 and PCA ST20

Bulking of sand depends on the moisture in the sand. But when the moisture is increased by adding more water, the particles of sand gets packed near each other as the film around the sand particles breaks and the bulking of sand is reduced. Dry sand and the send completely filled with water will have the exact volume. This principle is used to determine the percentage of bulking of sand in a given sample

Bulking of Sand Significance

In simplified terms, it can be said that bulking of sand is simply the looseness of soil without compacting. Usually, water reduces the pores in sand and compacts the sand.

Sand is used in concrete for reduction of segregation and fill out the pores between cement and coarse aggregates. For example, we need 1 m3 of sand in concrete, we need to know the approximate sand bulkage value. If the given sample has a bulkage of 25% then we need to take 25% more sand or 1.25 times of the sand while volume batching to get 1 m3 of sand for concrete.

If we don’t take this extra amount of sand considering the bulkage value, the total volume will be lessened to 75% after adding water. We know that the quality of concrete depends a lot on the proper proportioning of the contents. Generally, we consider the wet volume of concrete is 1.5 times the volume of dry concrete, in this case, we are typically using approximately 30% of sand bulkage and 20% of wastage. If we do not consider the bulkage of sand, the total quantity will be lessened and will impact on the overall concrete quality.

Test Procedure to Determine the Bulking of Sand

Following steps can be followed to calculate the percentage of bulking of sand in a given sample-

  1. Fill the measuring cylinder with the sample up to 200 ml mark.
  2. For accurate measurement steel scale can be used, but no compaction of sand is allowed.
  3. The sand is to be transferred to a container.
  4. The measuring cylinder is refilled with 100ml water.
  5. The measuring cylinder should be refilled with sample sand and stirred with a steel rod.
  6. Give some time so that the sand can settle.
  7. The level of sand will be below the 200ml mark this time. Let the present level be “a.”
  8. So the bulking of sand for this sample will be determined by the following equation-

BulkingofSand=200−aa×100BulkingofSand=200−aa×100

  1. The procedure should be repeated twice and the average value of the tree observation will be the percentage of bulking of sand for the given sample.

Uses of Sand

In the real world, there are a lot of situations where we can find uses of sand. Followings are the common sand uses.

  • We can use sand to filter water; it works like an abrasive.
  • We can use sand to give a grip to our painting or wall art by combining 2 cups of paint with a ¾ cup of sand.
  • People make sandpaper by gluing sand to a paper.
  • While bunging metal, we can mix sand with clay binder for frameworks used in the foundries.
  • Sand can be used for cleaning up oil leak or any spill by dredging sand on that spill. The material will form clumps by soaking up, and we can quickly clean the mess.
  • Sand can be used as a road base which is a protective layer underneath all roads
  • Industrial sand is used to make glass, as foundry sand and as abrasive sand.
  • One creative usage of sand is serving as a candle holder. We can try putting some sand before pouring tea light or any candle in a glass. It holds the candle still and refrain the candle from rolling by giving it an excellent decoration.
  • Adds texture and aesthetic appeal to space.
  • Sand is mostly pure to handle, promptly available and economically wise.
  • We can make children’s sandpit to keep the play areas safer. It is quite inexpensive as well.
  • We use sand in aquariums, fabricating artificial fringing reefs, and in human-made beaches
  • Sandy soils are ideal for growing crops, fruits and vegetables like watermelon, peaches, peanuts, etc.
  • Sand can light a path by filling mason jars with sand and tea light which is another inexpensive way to make a walkway glow.
  • We can keep a small scuttle of sand near a charcoal grill for inundating flare-ups.
  • Sand can be used for cleaning narrow neck receptacle by putting a little sand and warm soapy water in the container.
  • We can keep an item steady which needs repairing by using sand. Burying the broken pieces under sand grains helps to hold the elements together while gluing.
  • Sand helps to improve resistance (and thus traffic safety) in icy or snowy conditions.
  • We need sand in the beaches where tides, storms or any form of preconceived changes to the shoreline crumble the first sand.
  • Sand containing silica is used for making glass in the automobile and food industry- even household products for the kitchen.
  • Sand is a strong strand which is used for plaster, mortar , concrete, and asphalt.
  • The usual bricks formulated of clay only is way weaker and lesser in weight than blocks made of clay mixed with sand.

WHAT IS STAINLESS STEEL (S.S) & USES OF STAIN LESS STEEL

Stainless Steel:-

It is a steel alloy with a minimum of 11.5 wt% chromium content. Although stainless still are not stain proof, they don’t rust or corrode as easily as its other counterparts. Stainless steel has its use in many products, but mostly in home appliances and cooking utensils.

The amount of chromium present is the main difference between carbon steel and stainless steel. Carbon steel is susceptible to rust in contact with air and moisture. In stainless steels, because of the added chromium, a passive layer of chromium oxide forms which prevents the metal from corroding.

Self-healing property is the uniqueness of Stainless steel. Due to the alloying elements used, a thin, transparent layer is created on the surface. In case of scratched or damaged surfaces, this few atoms thick thin layer immediately rebuilds with the presence of oxygen from air or water. This is the reason stainless steel requires no coating or other corrosion protection to remain bright and shiny even after thousands of users.

From the tiny fork on the table to the highest skyscraper, stainless steel has become an integral part of modern life.

Stainless steel’s strength, 100% recyclability, corrosion resistance, mechanical efficiency, low maintenance make it the ideal material for all kinds of applications.

There are 150+ grades of stainless steel, among which only 15 are abundantly used in everyday applications.

Uses of Stainless Steel

Below are some of the most common uses of stainless steel.

1. Food and Catering

Stainless steel is commonly seen as kitchen accessories, cutlery, and cookware. From knife blades with sharp edges to molded shapes like cookers, grills, sinks, saucepans- the presence of stainless steel is essential. It’s also used as a finish for refrigerators, countertops, and dishwashers.

2. Offshore Technology

In offshore technology, stainless steel is mainly used in the pipework. They are used to transport hydrocarbons, petrochemicals, etc. for seawater systems. They are often the best choice for offshore systems given their resistance to corrosive effects of seawater.

3. Seawater Desalination Plants

Stainless steel’s great mechanical properties make it an essential material for seawater reverse osmosis units (SWRO).

4. Chemical Industry

Chemical plants expose metals and equipment to an extremely harsh environment. Stainless steel offers the best solution to withstand the corrosion elements.

5. Bridges

Duplex stainless steels, a recent family of stainless steel alloy, is becoming increasingly popular in bridges and other engineering structures as these steels are typically twice as strong as ferritic alloys. Because of their increased strength, less material is needed, thus becoming more cost and weight efficient.

6. Storage Tanks

Stainless steel tanks are regularly used to hold corrosive substances such as chemicals, gases, and many other bulk materials, including food and water. It doesn’t add any flavor or smell to foods and water, which is another advantage.

7. Medical Industry

By alloying stainless steel with Chromium, Nickel, and Molybdenum, the surgeon gets some important qualities for his/her materials.

  • Chromium- Increases scratch and corrosion resistance of equipment- essential for cleansing and sterilizing.
  • Nickel- provides a smooth, polishable surface – much needed for machine precision.
  • Molybdenum- provides hardness after forming; thus used in cutting edges like scalpels.

8. Civil Engineering

Stainless steel possesses similar desired properties of usual steel but eliminates disadvantages like corrosion. As a result, stainless steel has become increasingly popular as a construction material.

9. Power Plants

A power generation plant requires materials that endure high temperatures and extreme pressure. That’s why stainless steel is an obvious choice in heat exchangers, reactor tanks, pressure tubes, transformer enclosures and more.

10. Shipbuilding Industry

Duplex stainless steel is used to construct the cargo tanks while the austenitic grade is used for inland navigation tankers. Duplex stainless steel is being used in shipbuilding increasingly thanks to its mechanical efficiency.
